How to get an email address with @googlemail.com address

When you signed up for Gmail address , with @gmail.com you also get @googlemail address. Suppose you have an email address with the name yourname@gmail.com that means you also have an email address with yourname@googlemail.com. In short, when you create a Gmail account, you actually get two email addresses. It means all email messages that are sent to yourname@googlemail.com  will also be delivered to your own Gmail account (yourname@gmail.com).@googlemail.com

Simply, to stop receiving spam, instead of posting email address yourname@gmail.com format, rather use yourname@gmail.com. Give the @googlemail.com address to your close contacts like friends and elatives. While give @gmail.com address for public use for example to receive newsletter form some websites. Then set a Gmail filter such that all email messages with @googlemail.com will go to a special folder so you will never miss an important email from close friends. This will also help you to quickly read important E-mails if you receive lots of Email address.
