how to book IRCTC train tickets using Google Pay

Good news for all Indians, now you can book IRCTC train tickets using Google Pay app on both Android and iOS. Google Pay earlier named
as Google Tez. Google recently tied up with Indian Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), to make train booking on its website. Now you can search, browse as well book and cancel tickets with your IRCTC accounts directly from your Google Pay. Here I am writing about how to book IRCTC train tickets using Google Pay.

How To Book IRCTC Train Tickets Using Google Pay 

Requirements:

  • The user must have an active IRCTC account.
  • The latest version of Google Pay.
  • Google Pay must be installed and configured on your smartphone.

Here’s my step-by-step guide on how to book IRCTC train tickets using Google Pay.

  1. Open Google Pay on your phone, unlock it with your Google Pay PIN.
  2. Now, scroll down to the Business section, and tap on the Trains icon.
  3. Tap on Book Train Tickets.
  4. Search for trains: select your origin and destination with the date of travel and General/Ladies quota to search for trains.
  5. From the list of trains, you can check availability, and select a class to book the ticket.
  6. Find an available class and tap the ‘Select’ button located in front of the given class.
  7. Once you select a class of ticket, you’ll have to enter your details like IRCTC ID, name, contact number, and age.
  8. You can also add more passengers by tapping on ‘Add passenger’ option.
  9. Now, enter your contact information and hit the ‘Continue’ button from the bottom of the screen.
  10. Verify all the information shared and tap on the ‘Continue’ button to make the payment via linked bank account. In case there’s some mistake or you want to change any of the details, hit the ‘Edit trip’ button.
  11. While making the payment, the app will redirect users to the IRCTC website, where they need to enter the IRCTC password and CAPTCHA. Tap on Submit button to confirm the booking.
  12. You can tap the ticket on the device, hit the Download ticket option.

Note: Tatkal ticket booking is not available at the moment.

Google Pay has an option to cancel your IRCTC ticket and you can also check train status within the app. Your money will be directly deducted from your bank account so you don’t need any additional app for a book train ticket.
