Best laptops for college students under $500

 Lenovo Ideapad 3

This laptop is for people who want the absolute cheap laptop like just want to get started, and you have about $300 as your budget. So this is going to be.

You know really nice for just doing browsing if you’re a student for $300, you can get all the normal day-to-day tasks done like watching videos movies, you know youtube and stuff like that. Now this laptop the Lenovo Ideapad 3, has the intel Pentium gold CPU. Now, this is a 6405 CPU. It’S a dual-core. You have got four gigabytes of ram and 128 gigabytes solid-state drive, so the storage itself is not very slow here and you also have an HD.

You know led anti-grid display now again, don’t expect a lot for this price for 296 dollars. It’s got your windows 10 s and it is a 14-inch laptop. So that’s that – and we really like that it has an SSD for this price, but the performance itself is gonna, be you know more than enough for day-to-day tasks, but don’t expect to be playing the latest games on this laptop so for $300. This is our starting point and we don’t recommend you guys go below this now.

 Acer Aspire 5

It is a slim laptop now this is a full size, 15.6 inches full HD IPS display, and it’s also got the AMD Ryzen. 3. 3200.

U, with vega, 3 graphics, and 4 gigabytes of ram 128 gigabytes of SSD. You also got a backlit keyboard. You again have windows 10 s, but you can upgrade to the full. You know: windows 10 pro experience and this laptop is gonna cost. You 364 dollars again: that’s a really nice price for the amount of power that you get AMD, Ryzen, 3 CPUs and just Ryzen CPUs, in general, are really good, for you know, laptops and you can get this laptop in 8 gigabytes ram as well.

If you want to spend some more money but for the price itself, we are recommending the 4-gigabyte version. So that’s that and yeah it’s a dual-core CPU that can clock up to 3.5 gigahertz and you have a 128 GB, PCI, NVMe, SSD, and again guys. You should also stay away from eMMC storage and laptops that stuff is really slow as well, and you usually get like 32 or 64 gigabytes. So that’s that now, coming to the laptop itself, you’ve got USB ports.

You’ve also got 802.11 ac wifi and again it’s a basic laptop 15.6-inch display. You’Ve got a Ryzen, 3 you’ve got onboard graphics and this laptop itself should be able to handle browsing. You know watching videos, your work stuff, some of the software that you might use, and yes for 364 dollars, it’s a really good value, in our opinion.

So if you’re a student, if you want something for the office, work and stuff like that or if you just want something to you – know, consume media watch, videos, movies and stuff like that. This is a good laptop, in our opinion, now moving on to something that is a little more powerful.

Asus Vivobook f51

Now again, this is a 15 .6inch full HD display again and you’ve got a core i3 in this one. So this is a 10 generation core i3 CPU with 8 gigabytes of ram and again 128 gigabytes of solid-state storage. Again, you have windows 10 s in this, but you can upgrade to the full version of windows and you also have a fingerprint sensor and a backlit keyboard which, in my opinion, is really nice, and this laptop will set you back 379 dollars and we’re starting to Get into like a proper laptop territory here, like apart from the storage, everything else is pretty good, so you’ve got intel’s integrated graphics, which are pretty good in our opinion, and they can handle some light. Gaming and stuff, like that and you’ve also got a really nice display with thin bezels and it is compatible with google classroom. So if you are doing you know, google classroom for your studies, this is really nice and the 10th generation CPU with 8 gigabytes of ram. In our opinion is also pretty good for performance and you have an SSD, so it won’t feel slow or sluggish in any way. You’ve also got their ergo lift technology where it kind of lifts off you know whole laptop when you open it up. So that’s that you’ve got USB 3.2 you’ve got a2.11 ac, wi-fi and again you’ve got USB type-c. As we said, you should want a USB type-c in laptops that are coming out in 2024, and apart from that, those are the basic features for this laptop and for 380 or so. This is a really nice value, in our opinion.

HP 14″ Touchscreen

But again this is a 14-inch laptop with a touchscreen. Now, that’s really nice, for you know students, because you don’t have to really you know, use the mouse for the keyboard. You can just you know, touch stuff on the display and get work done.

You have a dual-core Ambi Ryzen 3 CPU, that’s 2.6 gigahertz, 8. Gigabytes of ram 128 gigabytes of solid-state, you know, drive you’ve also got a webcam, Bluetooth, wi-fi and basically again for 419 a little expensive, but we really like that. It has a touch screen and that’s going to be really helpful for students and stuff like that. But for 420 you could get better laptops.

So as long as you don’t want you to know, touchscreen we will stay away from this laptop, but otherwise, it has got all the basic features like a webcam and stuff like that for online classes, and things like that. You’ve also got windows 10 home. And yes, it’s a really nice laptop. It’S also got a USB type c for 420 dollars. It will get the job done for just basic tasks.

Asus Vivobook F412DA

Now, this is a 14-inch laptop with a full HD display. You’ve got AMD’s, Ryzen 5 CPU and you’ve got eight gigabytes of ram 256. Gigabytes of you know: solid-state storage you’ve got a backlit keyboard and for 496 dollars. We think yes for 500. This is one of the best laptops you can get and it can handle.

You know decent gaming performance as well. Again, you won’t be playing triple a titles, but things like you know, cs, go or just valorant and stuff like that. If you put down the settings, we think you will be able to get at least 60 fps. Now again, don’t expect to be playing modern high-end games on a $500 laptop. But what we are saying is, if you’re into light gaming – and just you want to play older titles that are not very demanding you could try on this laptop so for $500 you’re getting a Ryzen, 5 CPU.

You’ve also got enough storage and the vega 8 graphics, which are built into you know, the CPU itself, that’s the CPU. You’ve also got the fingerprint reader on this laptop. So that’s very nice. In our opinion, fingerprint readers are good for security and stuff like that. So again, for 496 dollars that is gonna be the laptop, you can get all right.

So We’ve shown you a bunch of laptops that are under 500 now you’re confused on which one to get don’t worry. Now, we are going to show you the laptop that you should get for under $500. Now again, this is slightly more than $500 at least right now, but in deals and sales and stuff like that, you can get it for very close to $500 and the performance it offers the value it gives you for your money, it’s just really nice and if you are looking for the best laptop for under $500 for doing school work, office, work and even a little bit of you know decent gaming. This is the one you should get, so the laptop we are talking about is going to be the Asus Vivobook 15.

ASUS  Vivobook 15

Now, this is a really nice thin and light. You know laptop with a 15
6-inch full HD display you’ve got an AMD quad-core CPU. You’Ve got a Ryzen, 7 3700u with vega, 10 graphics, 512 gigabytes of PCIe. You know NVMe SSD storage, so that’s really nice. The fingerprint reader is there.

You’ve got windows 10 home. You’Ve also got eight gigabytes of ram, which is going to be upgradable and for $549. We think this is the best laptop for you know this kind of price for, like a little bit more than $500 and you’ve got basically everything that you would. You know ask for in a laptop, this is also got USB type-c, you know, wi-fi Bluetooth, HDMI, you’ve got a webcam and in simple words, this is the best overall laptop you can get, it’s got performance, it’s got a good display and a decent design.

It’s got a full-size keyboard, all you know, little features that you could ask for and for $549, it’s a really good deal. So if you were to ask us which laptop we should get from this post, if you have the money, go with the $549 Asus Vivobook 15.

Again, let’s say you don’t have that kind of money. You can go for any of the laptops that fit your budget in this post they’re. All good, for you, know doing normal day-to-day tasks like email browsing. You know, youtube videos, movies, and stuff like that.

But again, if you want a little extra performance, go with this Vivobook 15. and that’s pretty much. This list of the best laptops under $500 for 2024.
