Motorola’s high end phone, known as Moto Maxx worldwide, will be released in India as Moto Turbo. With an event scheduled in India today, March 10, the launch of new devices Moto E and Moto Turbo is expected to take place.

UntitledInterestingly, the official Indian website of Motorola mentioned the name Moto Turbo a couple of days back, which surprised many because of the different name. And yesterday, leading Indian online retailer and Motorola’s official online partner Flipkart listed Moto Turbo on its website with a price tag of Rs. 41,999(~$670).

The Moto Turbo has a 5.2 inches QuadHD display with pixel density of 565 ppi, which means it is one of the sharpest display in the market now. It is powered by a 2.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with 64-bit memory access and Adreno 420 GPU. It has 3 GB RAM and there is a speculation that 64 GB variant will be launched. Currently running on Android Kitkat 4.4.4, a Lollipop upgrade is expected to come out soon. The phone has a 21 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and 4K recording and a 2 MP front camera capable of recording 1080p videos. Wireless capabilities include NFC and 4G LTE.

All these specifications aren’t really unheard of in a flagship phone. But one thing that left people amazed is it’s battery. It is a 3,900 mAh battery, and with features like fast charging through it’s USB 2.0 port, this one feature will surely attract a lot of customers! The fast charging technology, called Turbo charge, gives 8 hours of average usage with just 15 minutes of charging.

At a price of Rs. 41,999, this is a steal considering the specifications. Other flagships with similar specs are available at  around Rs. 55,000(~$875). And with Motorola’s reputation of rolling out updates pretty quickly, this will sell like hot cakes in a country where people who spend rather cautiously.
