WhatsApp has introduced an easy to setup web client for quick access via desktop web browsers

Now the data on your device will be synced with the web client and you can access your conversations through the browser. There are options to enable desktop notifications and sound for new messages, similar to Google Talk and Facebook messenger. The sync takes place real time and hence you need to ensure that your phone is connected to internet, else you won’t be able to use this feature. As WhatsApp pointed out, this is merely mirroring the WhatsApp application from your phone, hence you won’t get options like changing status and profile photo or create a broadcast list or a new group. But it serves its purpose pretty well, that is ensuring you don’t miss important messages while you are busy on your desktop.
