When it came to low-end budget smartphone market Xiaomi was pretty much the name of the game ,providing quality hardware capable enough to run most ,throughout the day but lacking the department in software regarding Future Software Upgrades ,Until Google tackled in the Low end market with its Android One initiative Barging in the boundaries and making Stock Android run smoothly over Mediatek chipset ,that to running efficiently that I have ever seen in any device costing Approximately Rs.10,000 (160$) .And with Google’s commitment of First in-line to receive Android updates it certainly gained alot of attention ,but since the launch of Android Lollipop on 3rd November there isn’t a word about when will the first batch of Android One devices receive the update ,seems like you were betrayed right ? Thing is looks like Lollipop has many bugs so far and since the launch of Android 5.0 ,two more updates ie. 5.0.1 & 5.0.2 have been pushed to legacy nexus devices ,still seems like there are bugs and Also Android One users might be getting the update in form of Android Lollipop 5.1 somewhere around february ,which was said by a CM Developer Varun Chitre in case of Android One ,which isn’t exciting for many including me…!

So that’s it ? Should we just keep our hands off until the update reaches Android One users ? Waiting for many isn’t possible ,if there’s an alternative ! and that my friends is CyanogenMod ( Wildly active dev community) ,these guys pretty much invented Mods in a way ,creating endless possibilities for many those without official support of software updates ,giving many a toast of  Latest Stock Pure Android experience at the expense of rooting your device. A young dev named Varun Chitre made Cyanogenmod Roms available to Android One devices quickly within the launch of these devices ,soon he even released Lollipop builds ( CM 12 beta’s ) making possible with his hardwork ,As ” Mediatek (MTK) devices have been notoriously difficult for the developer community to complete fully functional bring-ups, and this marks a milestone in that effort. ” Says Cyanogenmod Team .

The kudos for this goes to a young CM contributor Varun Chitre, who had the beginnings of CM on the Android One kicked off within two weeks of Google’s launch. He’s dedicated his time since October to bring this device to Android One users, in addition to his duties and part of FXP (CM Sony device maintainers). Android One devices are the first ever officially supported Mediatek device. Also Cyanogenmod will be available on Mediatek chipset for the first time ! Officially !

CyanogenMod 11 (KitKat) builds are available for the ‘sprout’ devices on Cyanogen website . since these devices are currently setup for CM11 only (work on CM12 is in progress) these builds will trickle once a week, every Sunday.” Says CyanogenTeam

Let’s just hope that we ,Android One Users get the official Android Lollipop update Soon !!  But hey we just got another way too now… which is epic !!
