Then don’t be worry because now Delhi Traffic Police has launched a new WhatsApp helpline number for complaints any traffic related issue. By using this service residents of Delhi can send in audio visual complains of any traffic related problems from anywhere from city. The Traffic Police force already has strong social media existence with around 200,000 followers on Facebook, has now started the WhatsApp helpline number ‘8750871493’ to achieve more connection with citizens.
“Delhi Traffic Police is happy to connect with Delhiites on WhatsApp. If you want to complain about any traffic violation, unauthorized parking, overcharging/refusal/misbehavior by auto/taxi, faulty traffic signals, or any other issue related to traffic problem, you may send photograph or short video clip with details such as your name, place, date, time etc., on mobile number 8750871493 through WhatsApp,” said Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Muktesh Chander.
“We assure you of our prompt action on your complaint and feedback about action taken. Help us in our endeavour of ‘Mobility with Safety’, he added.
The aim of helpline service is to encourage citizens to report traffic related violations and any other illegal activities with ease.
WhatsApp is very popular messaging app, that’s why Delhi Police taking effort of late to use WhatsApp potential among people.By using this help line number Delhi Police can reach out with citizens very effectively and can communicate among themselves.
Via Facebook fan page Delhi Police had recently asked to residents of Delhi to come forward and complain about illegal parking in the city.They also has another helpline number (1095) to curb parking mafia. WhatsApp helpline is next step in this direction.
The Delhi Police had already launched an anti-corruption WhatsApp helpline (9910641064) on August 6.By using this help line Delhi citizens can send audio/video clips in case a police officer demands a bribe or harasses an individual. A number of cases reported by using this help line and solved by Delhi cops.
